Camp Quest South Carolina's 2013 dates are 7/21-27 in Aiken, SC.  Registration is almost full and the early registration deadline is just around the corner, so don't delay if you want your child to go to CQSC.  http://campquestsc.org/

Camp Quest South Carolina and the Secular Coalition for South Carolina are sponsoring the t 3rd annual state-wide meetup for freethinking families and adults at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia.

We will meet for lunch and socializing at 11am at the public picnic area which is located at the west end of the zoo’s parking lot (as opposed to the parking lot for the garden entrance).

For more details, here is the Facebook event:  https://www.facebook.com/events/283430505125245/

Thursday, 5/2, is the National Day of Reason, a secular celebration of reason—a concept all Americans can support—with the additional goal to raise public awareness about the persistent threat to religious liberty posed by government intrusion. The Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry and the Piedmont Humanists groups both have celebrations planned.

Myrtle Beach Humanists & Freethinkers will be getting together for our December Social and wanted to offer an open invitation to enjoy an evening at Brookgreen Gardens with us. Members from Charleston & Wilmington groups are planning on joining in. Night of 1000 Candles is a great way to celebrate the holiday season together in sculpture gardens.  This is a family friendly event. In addition to the lights in the garden there will be lots of musical groups including hand bells & bagpipe. Their holiday display is historical collection of toys.
We will meet inside at the visitor center at 6pm and enjoy the evening together
Dress for the weather, this is outside!

Sat Dec 15
Meet at the visitor center at 6pm.

They said last Sat over 6600 people were there & by 6pm the cars were backed up for a mile on 17 in both directions. Chris & I are going early with a picnic dinner to beat the crowd & watch the sunset if anyone wants to join us :)

Hi everyone I am Shannon from Rock Hill. Looking to relocate in short order. In the meantime, looking for buddies nearby- or even a smart, freethinking lesbian! I am the only lesbian atheist I know here.

There is a state-wide meetup at the Riverbanks Zoo on Sunday, April 29, 2012.  The zoo's open from 9am to 5pm, but we are meeting for lunch from 11am to 12:30pm at the public picnic area outside the main entrance.  Feel free to visit the zoo before or after lunch, but we'll be doing this in smaller self-selected groups rather than one giant group.  The public picnic area can be seen in the lower right-hand corner of this map:  http://www.riverbanks.org/planvisit/assets/files/parkmap.pdf.  For more information about the zoo, please visit their website at www.riverbanks.org.  I will be reserving tables so please let me know if you're coming and how many are in your party, so I know how many tables to block off.  All the groups across the state have been invited and we did this last year, so it should be a lot of fun!  My email is SecularCharlestonMom@gmail.com for RSVPs and questions.  Also, I am the Camp Director for Camp Quest South Carolina and would love to answer any questions you may have while we're there!
