South Carolina Atheists

Connect with fellow freethinkers and skeptics in the palmetto state. It's difficult to be a religious minority in the bible belt, and we need to reach out to each other and let each other know we're here!

@Maggie. The Greenville Nontheists meet on Sunday mornings at the Brew and Ewe coffee shop downtown at 11 am. I am a member and try to make the meetings as often as I can. Look for Greenville Nontheists on Yahoo groups and join up. We keep in touch via group Email and Sunday meetings.

Atheist, theist, doesn't matter. We're all being beaten down by the ones who want to take our rights away from us, turn the clock back more than a hundred years. If you can, come. If you can't, spread the word.

The rights that Martin Luther King Jr. fought for in 1968 are the
rights we continue to fight for every single day. Stand up for our shared dream of a voice at work and the
chance for a middle-class life.

Dean, I don't know how big it will turn out - that all depends on all of us - but I've advertised across the state in as many as places as I can find.  I've mentioned it on FSM's FB page and on the discussion board of your Meetup group, so it would be great if you could put it on the calendar.  Thanks!

Sorry it took me so long, but here's the link for the zoo meet-up:  http://campquestsc.org/2011/03/trip-to-riverbanks-zoo/

It will be Sunday, 4/10/11, at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia and we will meet for lunch at 11am at the public picnic shelters.

How big is this? Would it be okay to invite the Freethought Society of the Midlands (FSM)? We're already in Columbia.

But.... if we meet that early when will we have time for a group prayer?
