There is a google group http://groups.google.com/group/makes0senses/ of SG atheists and skeptics that meets pretty regularly (once or twice a month)

I have recently completed reading Richard Dawkin's - The Greatest Show on Earth. It uses a multi-prong approach from various disciplines like geology, radioactive dating, biology, paleontology, dendrochronology (tree-ring dating) to compliment and support the claims of evolution. The contents of the book dispels common arguments against evolution and reinforces the position of evolution as a fact to the layperson.

Reading the various chapters brought back memories of me scouring science encyclopedias when I was a child and discovering. It heightened my appreciation of the world and I think that is the gist of Dawkin's intention when writing the book aptly titled The Greatest Show on Earth.
