This group gets fewer visitors than it deserves. Are Victorian attitudes responsible?

I'm about to start a new discussion that led to some "warmly" expressed views in a coed writers group.

I do not consider myself a "weak" Atheist simply because I am NOT 100% Sure that God-Gods-Goddess Exist or not. I simply say I don't know, but I live my life according to the "natural laws" of this planet, NOT the bible written thousands of years ago when people "knew" the earth was flat.

Bang With Friends: The Beginning Of A Sexual Revolution On Facebook?

You install the app, then the app lists your Facebook friends of the opposite sex. You click if you’d like to “bang” them, and no one ever knows . . . that is, unless one of those friends installed the app and elected to bang you, too.

“We wanted to keep it simple,” one of the creators tells Co.Design. “See your friends, choose your potential bangs, and then get notified privately via email when you have a match. Wham, bam, thank you new friend with benefits!”

With my wife’s permission, I took Bang With Friends for a spin. After installing the app, I was greeted by a Pinterest-y wall of potential hook-ups: An old co-worker. A friend from high school. A cousin. A minor. A dude. My wife. Lots of my friends’ wives. My mother-in-law, but, thank god, at least not my mom (apparently, there’s at least one filter at work here).

A few smarter filters would no doubt, make the app less inherently awkward (it’s hard to believe that family members should make the list). But then again, filters imply a certain level of judgement. And if Bang With Friends is anything, it’s a nonjudgmental corner of your social, digital life...

The author says it only lists your friends of the opposite sex, but "a dude" responded. How did that work?

Dr. Dawkins' new documentary, Sex, Death and the Meaning of Life is now out and available on YouTube. It features my research and material from my book Sex and God: How Religion Distorts Sexuality. As usual, for Dawkins, it is well done and thought provoking. Two of the three episodes are now out. The third will be out next Tuesday.

1.Are you saying there are only two effing trees in the effing forest: the tree you say is the wrong tree and the tree you're barking up?

2. The world ALWAYS goes downhill when it's not going uphill.

3. It starts going uphill when enough people look up the hill and see up there what they want.

Metaphor, metaphor, all is metaphor.

Some politically active folk insist that others are barking up wrong trees when those others are barking up different trees.
