Sex for fun and non-procreation!

In this world, we can't get away from religion. We've been exposed to false information regarding contraception failure rates and experienced the STD scare tactics. Some of us may even have gone through abstinence-only sex education!

Here in Secular Sexuality we will discuss:

-sexual health in light of peer-reviewed science
-safe for work guides on safe(r) sex (or links)
-questions that would shock the religious

I have such a light switch but it says reserection... It's a bloody Jesus on a cross... Yes I have humour about some shit, but not the environment. I've been involved with the environmental movement too long and have been watching groups create NO change at all in the state of the planet, because of constantly barking up the wrong tree, such as light switching.

TNT666, have you no humor?

Comment by TNT666 on October 2, 2012 at 7:20am

This is a very "David Suzuki" view of environmentalism. Guilt tripping the citizenry, while fully knowing that even if 100% of humanity "turned off the light" it would change almost nothing the the global annual energy consumption. Any environmental action which focuses on little teensy drops in the bucket instead of the grand scheme of things, ie corporate energy consumption, is bound for environmental failure. Of course, little drops in the bucket does seem to make people feel really good about themselves. But feeling good about ourselves and creating change that has an environmental impact are two entirely different things. Now you choose :)

They seem pretty reliable to me.  ^.^

From my understanding, vaginal orgasms are much less common.  It is good to differentiate the two.

Comment by TNT666 on September 25, 2012 at 9:56pm

We should distinguish here clit and vaginal orgasms as they generally experience different timing. IME clitoral orgasms anywhere from 15-60 min. Vaginal orgasms from 5min to not at all. But vaginal orgasms are less reliable.

No, no, no...my boyfriend can be ready to go in 15 minutes.  I need hours to be ready to reach orgasm.  I hate to get TOO personal here, but it's very rarely a quickie for us.  We are also older than you, Joseph, and that can make a difference in the amount of time it takes to reach orgasm.  I hope I followed your comment correctly.

*blink*

15 minutes?  As in, you have an orgasm, and then you need to have a 15 minute break before you're ready to give it another go?

Jeeze, that would be frustrating as hell, for me.  15 minutes in, I'm still usually coming around to my first orgasm, and my partner has generally had 4 or 5.  Not sure I could ever reach orgasm, under those kinds of constraints.

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:28pm 2 Comments

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…

My first funeral as an atheist

Posted by Two Cult Survivor on May 21, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.

I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…
