Welcome science fiction & fantasy fans!

As a science fiction/fantasy writer myself, I enjoy taking voyages into the unknown. Looking at the universe as it isn't often helps us put the real world into perspective. It's also fun to take an occasional vacation from the often-harsh reality around us. Unlike the theists, the religionists, the god-groupies who feel compelled to live in fantasy realms, we visit them and then come back home--and then go voyaging again.

I hope you'll all feel free to congregate here and compare your experiences in other worlds and times.

Oh so cool! Love that Ruth! And they did! But I am glad because I love Star Trek!

You won't be disappointed, Steph. Well, maybe just a little when you get to the end of Wonder and realize there won't be any more of it. But it's a good disappointment, because you'll have concluded a wonderful journey.

I'd like to recommend to everyone Robert J. Sawyer's outstanding WWW Trilogy--WWW: Wake, WWW: Watch, and WWW: Wonder. (It's easy to remember which one to read when--just read them in alphabetical order.) The books are well-written and almost impossible to put down. Not only are the main characters interesting, they're people you'd like to have as friends. They express values that I believe are common to just about all non-theists.  The first book was a Hugo nominee last year. The second book won the Prix Aurora this year for best English-language Canadian SF novel. And I'm confident the third book will do just as well. It's some of the best science fiction I've read in a long time.

There's a brand new look to my Parsina Press web site--not just a new color scheme and a more streamlined appearance, but new features as well: a wider choice of buy-links, images of past book covers, reviews, a lot more information.

Plus, to celebrate the redesign, I've got a special limited-time offer for my fans: many of my prime ebook titles are 1/2 off with the coupon codes on this page. Some of the books, like And Not Make Dreams Your Master, Polly!, and Assault on the Gods, will definitely appeal to free-thinkers. There's even a bonbon--a free copy of my story "The World Where Wishes Worked." The coupons expire at the end of the year, so I hope you'll come on over soon and take a look around. Let me know what you think, and pleasant reading!

Thanks for adding that welcome, Steph. I try to keep up, but sometimes I fall a little behind.

BTW, I've just read the first 2 books of Robert J. Sawyer's WWW trilogy. Aside from having a great story and characters you really care about, it's got some fascinating philosophical discussions. I'm looking eagerly forward to reading the third.

Please pardon my bragging, but my fantasy novel Polly!, a satire about religion, just got another great review, this time from Frida Fantastic. She says, in part, "The story is comparable to the Frank Capra film It’s a Wonderful Life, but it speaks to non-religious skeptics and has a weirdness that makes it more interesting."

And while I'm here, I'll point out my story Portrait of the Artist as a Young God, which might be of some interest to the non-theistically minded.

I have a great paperback reference I use called The New Age Baby Name Book that has names from all sorts of different cultures.  I got it in the 70s so it's almost certainly out of print, but some of the online used book sources might have a copy. I'll never part with mine.
