Hi there. I'm quite new to the rational response squad, and to the Atheist Nexus.
I've been planning for a while to go 'reverse prosthelytising' for a while now, and figure this is as good a time as any to start.
The basic idea is that there are certain places in town where prosthelytisers typically look for unfortunate passers-by to start putting on the hard sell. All I do is go there with a book, and soon enough, someone will ask me if I've heard of Jesus Christ (why no, I haven't, do go on…).
It's generally better than wrestling with prosthelytisers that go door to door, because you don't really know when a door knocker will turn up.
So maybe next weekend I'll post some stories of what happened while this was going on :o)

I came across this and thought I would share it with everyone.
I have had family and friends who have had personal problems.
It is hard for them, their family and their friends.
Thought this might help those who don't want a "religious" answer.

Comment by Wonderist on November 22, 2009 at 8:49am - Brian Gilmour, a lot of us were kicked in the ass by the economy and lack of disposable income, meaning we had to focus on work and making ends meet, instead of organizing activism. The RRS forums were always active, though. Come say hi!

Just be carefull... I had a similar discussion with my sisnlaw and it almost caused a big rift in my otherwise tightly nit family.

Anybody else read it? I love the basic premise, and being an atheist means I can appreciate the mythology and not get bent out of shape about the multiple deities.
