At the risk of sounding self serving, The Religion Virus has a fairly detailed introduction to memetics, and you get double value because it focuses on religion-as-memes to show how and why religion evolved to its present state.

Thanks for the link to your blog, Ruth.  I'm hoping it will explain memetics to me, since I really don't understand the concept.  I'll have to ask my son, who has a wonderful grasp of the topic, to help me understand, as well :)

Please note that my blog "Poo Fools (us all)" is in defense of memetics. I'd appreciate input from people, such as yourselves, who understand memetics. It would also be nice, if you "liked" it, helping to bring memetics discourse to the attention of the general AN membership. Thanks!

I'm getting tired of explaining memetics to folks who have never heard of it. This symbol comes in handy.

I wish I could go to the American Atheists convention to see Richard Dawkins speak.  I can afford the hotel and the tickets, but travel is another story.

My acronym for faith, - Fictional Apparition In The Head) for the next time some religious moron tries to rebut a sensible scientific argument with their hollow & meaningless cry.  And yes I'm proud to be an Atheist with people such as Dawkins, Sagan & many other brilliant primates. cheers ;-)
