Abuse in the name of God...
There is an article in Mother Jones Magazine that hits on the abuses in religious detention facilities for children and teens.
Bruce, a former fundamentalist Baptist pastor (now an atheist), gives a great review and links to the article.

Is knowlege only half the battle. What do you do with the knowlege? How do you change societies addiction to torture?

I wrote a discussion on sexual norms vs. mental health. How do you instill self control? Will there be people who are born to break cultural boundaries, unteachable? Is jail the only answer? I want to believe you can teach a person not to be abusive and I know that in a lot of cases this is true, but look how much abuse there is and continues.
