Comment by Joan Denoo on October 30, 2012 at 2:04am Brandon Vaughan, sounds like a great field to go into at this time. With all the new technology to do brain and neuroscience, there will be large breakthroughs in the future. Good luck
Comment by Ian Mason on October 21, 2012 at 9:56pm Welcome, Brandon. What you say provokes a thought:
I get the impression that, with the increasing use of technology (scanners, genetics, etc) psychology is beginning to be seen as hard science and that more men are getting involved. Anybody else think so?
Comment by Brandon Vaughan on October 21, 2012 at 5:53pm Hello all. I am a psychology major, focusing on experimental psychology. I want to get a master's degree and PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience.
Comment by Tonya Wynn on October 20, 2012 at 4:11pm I like eugenics, too. Make it a private market! Those who really care about their family's future could help eliminate health issues and maybe even select for intelligence and beauty. Why are horses, cows, and pets more important than humanity when it comes to breeding. There will always be 'mistakes' and some of those mistakes (very few) may wind up being beneficial. So be it...evolution. But, eugenics doesn't have to be racist or sexist. Each couple could choose what they prefer most, in a free market.
Comment by Tonya Wynn on October 20, 2012 at 4:06pm I LIKE social darwinism! Imagine if all of the religious people stopped taking medicine because they believed god would heal them...swocial darwinism!
Comment by Scott McGreal on August 27, 2012 at 3:13am I didn't give it any thought before you mentioned it, but Freud is pretty dated as the face of psychology. Featuring different faces would be a fun idea.
Comment by Robert W. Herrmann-Keeling on August 10, 2012 at 12:30am Well, now that I've been a member for abut two weeks, I guess that gives me the right (or nerve?) to enquire why the poster child for this site is Freud. Is it possible to have a different photo each month, for example? Wolpe? Lazarus? Adler? Jung? Genet? and others? Just asking.
Comment by Robert W. Herrmann-Keeling on July 30, 2012 at 10:56am Hi...just joined this web site and this group. Am wondering if there are any other Adlerians here. I'm the only one in Connecticut, and it gets lonely! For more on me and what I do (if it's OK to post an URL)...please, I'm new here... www.lifecourseinstitute.com
