I didn't have a particularly religious upbringing, just a childhood in a little English village and a dysfunctional family, but this article describes a lot of the problems I suffer from now. Anyone else feel the same?

Though I escaped these, I understand that such mechanisms facilitate women's oppression in fundamentalist cultures where men claim divine authority over women.
