tenken - interesting about argentina - they need to work out all that trauma as a nation - and talk about it a lot. freudian therapy is good for that.  it does get stuck, though, in the miasma of one's problems - leading a person out of this has changed.

yeah, susan, that's true for getting into psychology, but it is not always pure freudian psychoanalysis anymore.  it is important to completely (as much as one can) understand oneself to help others and understand how therapy really works.

I think my best friend had to be psychoanalyzed as part of her Education Psychology program to get her Masters.

I know this might be hard to believe, but in some countries, psychoanalysis and Freud are still wildly popular.

Cool - we do have some things in common. The Samhain circle sounds cool. I would love to read what you wrote if you would like to share it with me.
I never agreed with Freud either.

i am not a Freudian by any means - it makes me ill.  i had a professor who taught us all the various kinds of theories. when he got to freud, he said he had to teach us, although he did not agree.  he spent 2 hours walking bakc and forth across the room red in the face.  he was fantastic :]

i got a B.S. in psych a long time ago, but read many things since then. i have certificates in Art and Drama Therapy which i have worked in as a volunteer and used with my kids in teaching.

i would have liked to work in the field, but it didn't happen.

so, we have two things in common - weird.  tomorrow i'm going to the Samhain circle and calling the spirits of the West - i wrote part of it and i'm really nervous.  first time in being within the circle - not a visitor.
