If the Supreme Court would implement the Commerce clause of the U.S.Constitution the way it is written for the reasons it was ratified in the first place much of irrational government would be eliminated.

I've been an escort at my local clinic for a while now - we walk the women and their support person past the protesters - and if you're able, you should look into escorting. I know at my clinic, there is a shortage, and even a couple of extra bodies would help. It's one Saturday a month and it makes a huge difference to women to have a kind voice drowning out the hatred being spewed at them.

Stop Anti-Women Groups From Shaping Reproductive Health Policy

Help ensure women's reproductive health is covered in preventative care: tell the Department of Health and Human Services to listen to women, not the Catholic Bishops, and mandate free access to birth control.

Before I had my first abortion I was traumatised yes, but at the tought of having an unwanted child. And worse, I was traumatised at the thought of all the women in history who've had to birth unwanted children. I cried for these women. I had a hard time finding a doctor for my first abortion, and had I not found one I likely be dead today as I'd started walking in front of cars to end this unwanted burden.

I think some have tried to counteract the "I had an abortion and I'm traumatized" horror stories (there are plenty of people who haven't been traumatized, but also in countries where abortion isn't so taboo, fewer people are traumatized) but basically the mainstream perception is that having an abortion is traumatic. I've seen some stories where people said they were just fine.

My friend has an appointment at the clinic next week. I have absolutely no problem with abortion. I never have, and I never will. In fact, I think more people SHOULD abort their pregnancies.
However, not everyone thinks the way I do and that's what makes the world so wonderful...And frustrating.
My friend wasn't brought up to think like I was.
She feels so guilty about her decision to abort.
She's very young. It was an accident - faulty contraception. She is unemployed and irresponsible. She would be a very poor mother and custody of her child would most likely go to someone else.

She is making the right and ONLY choice in my opinion.
She said today she feels like she's a 'terrible person' for making this decision.
No matter what I say it doesn't seem to help.
I wish there was more positive information about abortion out there. She's surrounded by negativity.
Even a simple search in google comes up with horrific images and pro-life/religious propaganda.

If anybody knows of any worthwhile resource that could comfort my friend right now it would be of great help.

It's true that if we are going to talk about choice, then a person has a choice either way. I don't see a problem with someone talking about their choice either way, except that I am pro-abortion (or pro putting birth control in the drinking water) because of overpopulation. Still, some people are going to have children...unfortunately it's all the people who will make our future an Idiocracy...
