Religion has so many connections to political and economic beliefs, there needs to be a place to identify linkages, problems, goals, options, action plans and evaluation criteria.

An eternal question, what is the purpose of life?, occupied philosophers’ thoughts throughout history. Stone pictographs reveal even primitive peoples reflected on this query. Each one has the capacity to define his or her personal thinking about politics, economics and religion.

Capitalism without Failure.
"Congratulations to everyone at Frontline involved in producing the documentary. I urge Frontline to revisit this issue because it is one of defining matters that will decide whether our Nation will restore the rule of law and return to greatness."

The Shock Doctrine - Naomi Klein
This video defines and describes Shock Doctrine and its implications for us, today. If we are to turn this into an opportunity to learn, we can know that chaos and panic yield us no freedom; we need clear thinking, calm recognitions of what is happening and why, and recognition that action with thought are the only ways to overcome the tyranny and terror being dealt out.
Comment by Joan Denoo on January 20, 2013 at 3:55pm Ruth, try one of these. It is important we understand the meaning of this economic disaster because Latvia and Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, and many other countries Agreed to the demands of USA and International Monetary Fund, all countries developed a rise in the poverty class and rise in wealth, rise in unemployment, and much of S. America turned to Socialist leaders in retaliation. The system doesn't work and these countries and others can prove it.
The major difference between Latvia and those other countries, is the labor force of Latvia didn't dispute, picket, or organize resistance, they packed up their belongings and moved out of the country. As the Latvian Government claims austerity works, I wonder what they will do when they realize their working people are leaving quietly.
Latvia’s Economic Disaster as a Neoliberal Success Story
"A generation ago the Chicago Boys and their financial supporters applauded General Pinochet’s anti-labor Chile as a success story, thanks mainly to its transformation of their Social Security into Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) that almost universally were looted by the employer grupos by the end of the 1970s."
