This little snatch of history from Wikipedia on Romney reveals how volatile USA laissez-faire capitalism is.

There are those who would have atheist remain silently polite, not question assumptions, don't impose our thoughts on their beliefs. Well, when has silence ever achieved any goal? If you know dirty hands spreads disease, you speak up. If you know eating rotten food can make one sick, you say something. If you know too much candy is bad for a developing child, you take action. If you know someone uses violence to gain control of family members, you take a stand. 

Some don't like Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, Daniel Dennett,  Richard Dawkins, or AronRa, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Dan Barker, Annie Laurie Gaylor, Emma Goldman, Che Guevara, Lawrence Krauss, Paul Kurtz, Hemant Mehta, PZ Myers, Michael Newdow, Madalyn Murray O’Hair, James Randi, Julian Assange, Margaret Sanger, David Suzuki, or Steve Weinberg, just don't listen or read their materials. You have every right to not agree with them and you do not have the right to silence them.

Have you hear these statements in polite society?

"146,000 Christians a year are martyred worldwide." I have heard this several times. 

Paul Rosenberg stated "the real figure is almost certainly less than five a year (possibly even zero) - which would yield what I dubbed a "conservative victimology ratio" of 28,600 to one."

"voter fraud cases are rampant!"? I heard this, many times and watch the efforts to prevent voter fraud. 

Paul Rosenberg stated "similarly scarce, but conservatives imagine they number into the millions - and voter suppression in various forms actually does keep millions from voting. Using a variety of different approaches and examples, I came up with victimology ratios ranging from 30.4 million to one down to 22,010 to one."
