Religion has so many connections to political and economic beliefs, there needs to be a place to identify linkages, problems, goals, options, action plans and evaluation criteria.

An eternal question, what is the purpose of life?, occupied philosophers’ thoughts throughout history. Stone pictographs reveal even primitive peoples reflected on this query. Each one has the capacity to define his or her personal thinking about politics, economics and religion.

Stupid has no cure! Sadly, Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX), an Ob/Gyn by trade, told his colleagues to, “Watch a sonogram of a 15-week baby, and they have movements that are purposeful”.Well of course "they have movements that are purposeful". They are…Continue

Obviously, there are those who recognize the abuse of power, even by our beloved president, who inherited power abuses and refused to give those powers up. Why should he? Human beings have a love of power more than a love of people.Snowden indicates…Continue

Comment by Scott Ward on June 27, 2012 at 4:31pm Hey guys, found this link, it starts off as comic book stuff but quickly switches into politics- and horribly offensive viewpoints. I left a nice post there detailing his errors if anyone would like to as well

Sociologists of religion have observed that immigrants often become more religious after arriving in the United States. So it could be that Chinese Americans, who are roughly half unaffiliated, will become more Christian or more Buddhist over time. But for now it seems that Asian immigration is doing more than making America wealthier, more educated, and more liberal.
It may also be making the United States less religious.

Comment by Joan Denoo on June 19, 2012 at 12:04am Lillie, you describe the situation accurately, the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of government are bought and paid for. The one person/one vote is no more. Money buys our political representatives and citizens do not have a voice. This is a sad and true reality.
May I recommend Democracy School material
It gives you information about why and how our government works, the laws and Supreme Court judgements that molded what we have. Both political parties are caught in a trap they can't get out of, just as a bear is caught in a trap. Candidates' minds are bound by principles that work for owners of capital but suck the wealth out of the owners of labor.
I see no future in Democrat or Republican parties ... they are both already bought. A few lone wolves exist, i.e. Bernie Sanders, but laws are written and the Supreme Court passed judgment to create a nation for owners of capital and if we cannot recognize that, we will be putting our time, money, energy, loyalty down a bottomless pit.
Comment by Joan Denoo on June 18, 2012 at 11:54pm You state it correctly, Lillie. Money now buys Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government.
May I suggest Democracy School material for you to read. It is a scathing indictment of our current political system.

I shall not be voting Democrat or Republican this year. They may have different names, but they are mind-bound by economic theory that guarantees Booms and Busts. There is no other option, the design of their theories have them trapped as a bear is caught and don't know how to get free. If they knew how, they would.
There are other options.
Comment by Lillie on June 18, 2012 at 3:40pm I received this email today from a Democrat supporter. What are we going to do? I give what I can to the President's reelection but it is a pittance compared to this.
Sheldon Adelson recently donated $10 million of his personal fortune to a super PAC supporting Mitt Romney's campaign, making him the biggest single donor to a candidate-specific super PAC and biggest donor to outside spending groups in the history of the United States.
Three upsetting things I want to say about this before I tell you that we shouldn't get upset:
-- He's said that he's willing to go as high as $100 million to defeat Barack Obama.
-- This kind of money could change the outcome of an election.
-- For Sheldon Adelson, who's worth more than $20 billion, this donation is about the equivalent of $40 to a middle-class family.
