USA ethics and morals come from christian teaching.

To claim that ethics and morals come from christian teaching is a fallacy of the highest order. Reading the bible is proof enough to validate that statement. Slaughter of the innocents abounds in history and in modern warfare. Using force and intimidation to follow the authority of some individual or imagined delusion proves the point.

Matthew 22:37-38. "You shall love the Lord God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.”

Matthew 4:17. 17 “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Mark 9:1. “And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

Jesus was not concerned with typical worldly problems:

Luke 18:22. “When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Matthew 12:46-50. 46 “While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him.

47 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”

48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?”

49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers.

50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

Matthew 10:21. “And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

Luke 14:26.  “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.”

Jesus spoke his truth: to neglect one’s family, he predicted his followers would kill brother, hate family members, and they were to renounce all they have and follow him. Anyone who rejected his teaching would be punished. Does this sound like love? What kind of god requires such love which leads to neglect and killing family? Are these morals and ethics worthy of following?
