The Devolving American State

"The information gathered through local police departments, the FBI, the CIA, the U.S. military and other law enforcement agencies exists to monitor what you do when you exercise your rights as an American to protest—that is to say, every American’s constitutional right to demonstrate peacefully for social justice without being tracked on the “domestic situational awareness” radar."

"Today’s bondage consists of debt and unemployment."

"Where is the Tea Party Patriot’s outrage over the matter of 18 American veterans taking their own lives daily?"

"Where is the American conscience? Do we still have one, or are we devolving into country without a conscience?"

This writer states it better than I can. Who are and Where are the people standing up against radical fundamentalist wanting to control the lives of other people? Why is there not an outrage over Class Warfare, Department of Homeland Security, DHS, FBI, FSB, Gestapo, J.P. Morgan Chase, Jamie Dimon, Tea Party Patriots?

Where are those who stand up for and with Veterans? Oh! I know! TV and other distractions keep us from doing something. Jeeze! I wish my old body had more strength and energy than just typing away on the internet! I feel so useless.

One answer to "Why isn't there outrage over...?" comes from

Charles Ferguson's 'Predator Nation: Corporate Criminals, Political...

...the political techniques used by both parties to emphasize disagreement about so-called values issues has successfully distracted a lot of people from this underwater economic change.

I think the "values" focus in political debate also takes people's minds off of our loss of freedom, the  lack of prosecution of financial sector crimes, and the devaluation of soldiers lives.

Yes, the distractions of the entertainment industry also play a part. It's as if we aren't capable of multitasking, paying attention to the crimes of the new oligarchy and also following the twists and turns in our favorite soap.

Ferguson, Charles - INET interview

Yes, I agree that Charles Ferguson does an excellent job of defining present conditions and his book title properly identifies the problems. Here is an interview he did with INET that you might find informative.

Thanks for the book recommendation.

"both major political parties have become captives of the moneyed elite.

"Reagan administration in the 1980s,

"Clinton administration that dismantled the regulatory controls that protected the average citizen from avaricious financiers.

"Bush team that destroyed the federal revenue base with its grotesquely skewed tax cuts for the rich.

"Obama White House that has allowed financial criminals to continue to operate unchecked, even after supposed "reforms" installed after the collapse of 2008."
