Inequality and Investment Bubbles: A Clearer Link Is Established
...the periods of greatest inequality are also periods of bursting investment bubbles. Most recently the inequality peaks lined up very closely with the housing bubble of 2008, the dot.com bubble of 2000, and the savings-and-loan crisis of the late 1980s.

There are many videos and journal articles on econophysics available, so I have a lovely time ahead of me learning how this works. I am not a physicist, and their way of reasoning fascinates me. Ultimately, they usually do sort out ... so, thanks for the lead!
