Acknowledge ‘Almighty God’ or Go Directly to Jail

"Even assuming that most of this nation's citizens have historically depended upon God by choice for their protection, this does not give the General Assembly the right to force citizens to do so now. This is the very reason the Establishment Clause was created: to protect the minority from the oppression of the majority. The commonwealth's history does not exclude God from the statutes, but it had never permitted the General Assembly to demand that its citizens depend on Almighty God."

Atheism, affirmation of what there is to celebrate.

The application of reason offers hope for human and Earth survival and flourishing. Trying to escape tyrannies of the Old civilizations and their monarchies, religions and exploitation of those who work for wages, our Founding Parents came to the Americas to find a more rational way of living together in liberty, prosperity and peace through reason.

This Proclamation of National Day of Reason, signed May 3, 2012, can stand in as a  declaration of what we celebrate.
