My Wife Leanor is from Lucena City. We reside in Pago Pago, American Samoa.
There is a rather large Phillipino Comunity here. {2,000 plus}
I have been a practicing Atheist for the better part of my life.
My wife and I share the same beleifs pertaining to organized religion; it is a busnc os garbage rammed down the throats of Babes at an early age. {Brainwashing?}

Kamusta? I'm a Fil-Am who grew up in the Philippines and now that I'm in the US, I can see how brainwashed I have been, so is the rest of the country. I want to connect/chat/meet some Filipino atheists. Having our culture, it's really hard to just put your beliefs out there when everyone is Catholic and narrow-minded. Add me, also "Ex-Catholics Coalition" group may be of interest. Salamat!

im so happy that some of filipinos join this site and proclaim thier self as an athiest, (^_^) i hope that all the filipino think Logically, its time to wake up and believe that there is no God exist.even the bible is a whole damn shit, believing in human created word written on that piece of paper, how fool they are beleiving that they will saved by reading the bible verse Holy Shit on them

a so much ironic experience: ...was struggling through the pages of every book in the bible, then caught myself finally thinking the so-called god doesn't exist. replay? nah, no rewinds. i'll move on as atheist now. im much righteous in here. (^^,)

I remember being a totally devout 16 year-old catholic and suddenly revolt against unreason and turned to yet another unreason - occultism. For me mysticism in the Philippines is almost insurmountable.

Personally, I've never had a problem expressing my atheism in the Philippines. I guess it's just that I hang out with a rather intellectual crowd who'd rather just debate the issue. We also try to avoid too much discussion on religion, that just causes dislike. Or maybe it's just because I'm huge for a Filipino and people would rather not make me angry :D. They wouldn't like me when I'm angry...
