You have to love when you explain to your family to respect your beliefs they still attempt to teach your child bible camp songs.

Bryan- I dont know how it went, Im not sure if they even went through with it. I told my daughter to speak up if she wanted to do it or not.... But now her step mom got me to go to a play, which she said it would just be a concert, and it was about how to teach children to convert atheists, and how to deal with them!! What a punch in the stomach!!!

Hi Erika,
Go for it! If you haven't found it yet, check out Foundation Beyond Belief's Yahoo group - specifically set up to support people who want to start local secular parenting and family groups.

Hello,
My name is Erika- I have two daughters ages 2.5 and 4 months. Just yesterday I started looking for athiest parenting resources online- it was prompted by being invited to a MOPS meeting, which I had no idea was a Christian organization. Needless to say, I suffered through it- and really got to thinking about what myself and my children will do for socialization that doesn't include a church community. I am seriously considering starting a Freethinking Moms group in my area where like minded individuals can speak freely about their "non" belief- and of course other parenting issues like potty training etc.

Tabi - I was baptized three times (Baptist), my wife once (Cath) and my son once (Cath). We're all doing just fine! How did it go?

"How Breastfeeding Benefits Mothers' Health
Feeding infants with breast milk has been shown to improve baby health and even IQ, but the benefits of breastfeeding also appear to stay with mothers for years to come, lowering risks of cardiovascular disease and cancer"

Hi Tabi,
I was baptized when I was little, but... it didn't take! So, I'm sure there's hope for her.
