Also, you might be interested in our list of atheist related parenting resources list. This is a work in progress, if you've found something you think is a good fit please post a reply and I'll see about adding it.

If at any time you would like to contact me, the easiest way is to send a private message through my page. However, in order to send any member a PM you must first be their friend.

Thank you for joining the group, I hope you enjoy being here.

Happy Birthday, Monty! And thanks for the free music :) I can't wait to check it out!

Thanks! I will definitely check out the music, but the amazon link is great and lead to a lot of other good finds especially Dan Barker's works. We had a choose your own ending about the Alamo tonight, but they were asking about Optical Allusions again. The little one is definitely digging the science cartoons.

Hi Rebekah,

I recommend you check out Evolution, by Daniel Loxton

http://www.amazon.com/Evolution-How-Living-Things-Came/dp/1554534305

Also, if I can recommend my own work, Songs From the Science Frontier is a fun way to introduce some science topics: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/montyharper7

Plus, on Tuesday, which is my birthday, you'll be able to download it for free:

Hi, I'm new to the forums and I'm looking for some book recommendations. I've been reading "Optical Allusion" which uses a great cartoon and science information platform to my kids 7 and 12. I want to introduce more evolution and other science information in a fun way. Any books your kids have enjoyed?

Welcome Destiny. Feel free to ask any specific questions you have in the discussion forum. If you haven't already, look for the resources list up at the top - there are lots of books but most should be available at libraries assuming you have a good system.

Hello, my name is Destiny, and I am a proud parent of an up and coming free thinker. I just joined, and I am looking forward to having somewhere to go to where there are more people like myself! I married the only other free thinker I have ever known, and although I do love him, I am excited to meet other atheists, other mothers in particular. So, with that being said, I am seeking advice from other atheist parents on things such as explaining religion, how to teach my child to handle herself in the situations we as atheists find ourselves in, and how as a parent I should help her understand how incredible it is to to be a free thinker, even if it means we are different. I would LOVE to hear from people who were raised atheist, your experimces and advice! Any helpful resources are appreciated, but honestly I dont have a great book budget at the can download most anything, such a childrens shows that promote free thinking. I myself carry great advice for teching your toddler to read, and I will eventually post a video on that! I am interested in any early child education advice really, and even some potty training tips would be great! Thanx guys!
