Comment by Jennifer Hancock on March 31, 2012 at 8:45am Kids find out about these holidays - can't keep their existence a secret. We do a small cheap basket every year for him to find. I can't stand the crowds for the egg hunts. Plus, don't want to give my name to the churches hosting them. So ... we just do a basket and he's happy. I never celebrated it as a kid, so wasn't sure how to do it. My son's happy.
I never wanted to do anything for Easter either but we ended up doing egg hunts because one of the kids had done one at pre-school and wanted to do one at home. No bunny, no baskets...if they ask it's just a fun thing to do to celebrate the change to spring. They rarely ask questions when candy is involved. :)
Comment by Alice on March 30, 2012 at 10:41pm I just tell my kids that it's Easter and so we get to eat chocolates.... :)
Comment by Annie Thomas on March 30, 2012 at 10:29pm When my daughter was little, we always had egg hunts. It was so much fun to go out into the garden to hide the eggs, and then for her to search for them. We never attached it to anything... it was just a fun little thing to do. Personally, I look at it as more of a pagan ritual than a christian one, but either way, it was just plain fun. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have a good time!
