If you like They Might Be Giants' "Here Comes Science," you may also like an album being released July 20th, 2010, called Amoeba to Zebra, a CD of children's music about life on earth. I just discovered it, and it's already available on iTunes.

Here's the link to the album on Amazon:

Also relatively recent is a YouTube video of "Laughing With" by Regina Spektor, a playful song about when people laugh, and find it hard to laugh, at God.

Thanks for the info! I'm always looking for new music for my daughter. My most recent purchase was "26 Animals" by a band called Artichoke. Not explicitly atheist, but science-based nonetheless. They also have a fun couple albums for adults called 26 Scientists.
Hey Kevin, Janine, and everyone,

I'm a children's songwriter & a big fan of TMBG from way before they started doing children's music. I'm also familiar with Artichoke - I love their song about Mary Anning!

I'm working on my own science CD right now. My approach is unique - I'm focusing on science as a process, rather than a bunch of known facts. The CD is called "Songs From the Science Frontier" and eight of the songs are based on interviews with scientists about their current research. I'm thinking of it as a follow up to "Here Comes Science" - aimed a little older.

I could really use your help to make this CD happen!

Please check out my Kickstarter page here:

If it looks like something you'd like to have, please make a pledge! Thanks!
I have a few other recommendations.
I had seen in an older comment about a touching song called “Not Perfect” by comedian and singer Tim Minchin:

Another lovely song from Minchin is “White Wine in the Sun”:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCNvZqpa-7Q
Not all of Minchin’s music is suitable for little ones if you care about limiting their exposure to foul language, but these two are rated G and a real delight. Also notable are “Good Book,” “Storm,” and “I Love Jesus,” although these all have the f-word.

I’ve also found on YouTube:

“Let the Mystery Be”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awmgpZFXHfk

and “I Ain’t Afraid”
http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=GEJx8cYnUuE&feature=related

Finally, I haven’t seen that any one else has posted about Dan Barker’s music. Barker is co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, and he used to write children’s Christian music. After he left religion behind, he put out a couple of free thought albums, and many of the songs have a sensibility of children’s music to them. The albums are “Beware of Dogma” and “Friendly Neighborhood Atheist.” They’re not available on iTunes or Amazon, but I recommend them!

The albums are available here:

Keep sharing if you find something else! GBM Harper: Best of luck with your CD! It sound's terrific!
Kevin, I'll try to post some more specific recommendations when I get time but for now, check out this website as a source for science songs: http://www.science-groove.org/MASSIVE/

Also check out Daniel Loxton's Junior Skeptic Mix Tape!
Like our own little Pandora! Thank you, we will check out this album.
