Something else to be mindful of here too. We don't "believe" in evolution. We understand it, follow it... etc. but NEVER believe in it. Belief is a word that should be reserved for the intangible - and in science that is limited to very few theoretical objects at the extremes of physics.

Watching that video a couple weeks ago made me embarrassed for our country. The fact that only two believed in evolution is disheartening. But then, i have to remember the background of the kind of people who participate in beauty pageants and tell myself that these 50 women are by no means a representative pool of the people in our country. At least that's what is keeping me from slitting my wrists.

Either way, I'll reserve judgement. This kind of optimism can turn into a train wreck just as quickly.

Poor girls, they are taught to be only pretty and dumb.

The worst thing is their parents, their schools directors, their representatives and even some of their Presidents think it is cute and healthy.

Exactly, and she's a poor representative for visiting, foreign dignitaries.  As our chief diplomat, we need better.

Just watching http://youtu.be/UkBmhM0R2A0 on Miss USA contestants about evolution. What an amount of science illiteracy is shown on it.
