Thanks for the invite, I'm just finding my way around this superb social network. I suspect a few people may be interested to follow this excellent and very amusing radio 4 weekly show, with professor Brian Cox. The podcasts are available outside the UK too!! Enjoy.

Suffering causes us to change our memes.

 

Suffering is an indication that something isn’t working.

 

Mass suffering is the drive for social / cultural / political revolution.

 

Suffering drives us to find solutions that work.

 

Ignorance is believing that using utopian ideals to design a new system will release us from our suffering.

 

The Industrial revolution is a good example of how a new system evolved that worked – without utopian ideals to design a new system.

to suffer is to seek away out of such suffering for your self as well as for others. I personally  learn from mistakes and when suffering I certainly seek to find a way to relieve such suffering, which in in turn  betters my state of existence.
