The continuation of life is the meaning of life, but because continual existence of any particular life is improbable, or impossible so on an arbitrary scale of 1 to 7 I give life a 6 out of 7.

The Universe exists as it does and it is impossible to for the universe to be wrong or behave in a way contrary to the way universe does work.  So on that arbitrary scale the universe gets a 7.

life (6), the universe (7) and everything is 42...  what more is there to discuss.
