Hello everybody! I am recently transplanted from Colorado to the Medford area, looking for any like-minded peeps in southern Oregon... so far appears to be quite the daunting task. Would appreciate any replies/advice! :)

Greetings Oregon Atheists. I can't believe how hard it is to find local atheists in the Salem, Oregon. I hope through sites like this it will be possible to communicate with local like-minded folks.

 

I recently joined, H.A.S., Humanists Association of Salem, while searching for an atheist group. We recently voted to disband the H.A.S. and become a satellite group of the, CFI, Center For Inquiry of Portland. My hope is that we can get the area atheists and other non-believers to join the group and bring an atheist presents to the Salem area.

It looks like the Clackamas County District Attorney, along with the local school district is trying to work with them. Here's a link to a story in the oregonian.

I was curious if anyone knew of anything being done to put a stop to the followers of christ church in oregon city. almost every week there's another story about one of their members being arrested for the negligent homicide of their child. This cult is out of hand and just continue to go on about there merry way leaving a trail of dead babies behind them. I can't find anything against them locally and was wondering if anyone here knew of anything. Sorry for the graphic descriptions, it just makes me sick that people like this are allowed in our society at all and I get the pleasure of driving by their "church" everyday.
