Making a liar out of me! Not cool! Seriously, though, I can't stamp my foot enough: there are actually conversations, and interesting ones, on the real Omaha Atheists Meetup message boards.

The reason I say that is, a case can be made that by indoctrinating a child before the child is old enough to make his or her own decisions, a religious person is stunting that child's mental and emotional growth. If you have an emotional attachment to your superstitions before you're old enough to think for yourself, how likely is it that you're going to approach the matter rationally? Like Dawkins says, there is no such thing as a Christian child, only a child of Christian parents (and of course any other religion fits into that little saying as well).

In the view of many atheists, myself included, that lady publicly demonstrated a form of child abuse in which she engages.

That violates the separation of church and work! Or... something. I would have been offended, at least. But that's just me.

Oh, man. We don't usually count, but I would say 30-40. And the group's only a couple years old. I'd expect it to grow quite a bit, and rapidly.

And this didn't post the first time, but yes, I was at the last meeting. I stayed till the end. So, Ester, you probably saw me.

Well, in this case, "meeting" means "go to DJ's Dugout, drink beer, and talk about whatever." There are discussion groups, too, and we're working on putting together a softball team, among other things. The boards on the meetup group are where it's at. You should really check them out.
