I want to invite those of you with kids to attend one of my concerts this summer. I perform for summer reading programs at libraries all across Oklahoma. You can see my full schedule here: MontyHarper.com

There are upcoming dates in Tulsa, OKC, Norman, Stillwater, Watonga, Tahlequah, Hollis, Altus, Bixby, Checotah, & Ft. Gibson.

If you come to one, please introduce yourself! Thanks!

Oklahoma Atheists and Tulsa Atheists are two great groups to join if you live in the Sooner State. I am a member of both. Come join us. Also, look for both groups on Facebook. Oklahoma Atheists is private on Facebook, so join them on Meetup first, get to know the members and they'll direct you. Just know that you're NOT alone.

I'd like to second the comment below about joining a local group or starting one. If you are near the OKC metro, in particular, check out www.OklahomaAtheists.com we can use a few fresh faces. Nearly at the 500 mark now, and it only took 7 years!

I encourage all Oklahomans to locate a nearby atheist group to join so we can be united from Texas to Kansas and from New Mexico to Arkansas. Start with Meetup.com and if there is not a group close enough, ORGANIZE one. I am an assistant organizer of the Tulsa Atheist and I'll be glad to help any of you get started. There are towns that are an hour drive away from Tulsa (Bartlesville, Muskogee, Stillwater, etc.) that don't have groups. If you live in a surrounding area and would like for the Tulsa Atheist to visit your town and help you get started, email me at JesusLiedForYou@yahoo.com.

Logical thoughts and best wishes.

Ignore felch. There are a lot more intelligent, reasonable people here than he. Don't give up on all of us because of 1 or 2 self-absorbed narcissists who aren't happy unless they're having a grumpfest and demeaning others to salve their own feelings of inadequacy. There are assholes everywhere and the atheist community isn't exempt or immune. I've gotten to the point where I find them mildly amusing. If not, I skip over. Remember, all of the keys on your keyboard are at your command.

I'm getting to where I visit this site less and less. The most recent forum about policing blog content and calling posters assholes about how they use their blog entries was probably the last straw. And if you post an opposing opinion then their will always be somebody jumping you for it.
I've read some people stay out of the main forum and just stick to the groups and blogs but since I use my phone to view the site then the main forum is what comes up on the mobile version.
Is anybody else on a different forum that has a more relaxed vibe to it and friendlier members?
