I don't watch enough myself. I am usually too busy gaming. But I think I am going to be changing this soon. I don't get out of the house enough and I think I should. I have a Netflix membership now and I think I am gonna be going on a movie marathon for myself!

Horror movies don't scare me but the ones that are based on true stories, or ones that say "this COULD happen" those...send a chill up my spine. Slasher flicks are more for the instant shock value.

@Emma: Hehe, that would be great. I watch between 3 - 8 DVDs a week now -- both films and documentaries on a wide variety of topics. Consider joining the Atheist Cinema group as well.

Horror movies don't scare me, though as I may have mentioned below in Wrong Turn 2, there were some suspenseful parts towards the end.

I have always felt the music in a movie makes or breaks it. I can't explain how it made me feel to see that scene I mentioned...It was very deep. You should see again. Too bad your not in Nashville I would love to have Horror Movie buddy!

@Emma: I don't recall the music at all, but it has been about 6 months or so since I saw it. Believe it or not, I had never seen the very first Halloween movie until last year. That came out when I was in elementary school, so I didn't get to see it (probably a good thing at the time), and as an adult I just never got around to it until last year when I went through all of them.

The most disturbing part of the Zombie version is when he killed the orderly who had always been so nice to him. I really wanted him to spare that guy!

The music they picked for the scene where he finally goes off on his family ...by Nazareth, Love Hurts was brilliant...it really made you feel his pain and almost side with him. I have not purchased this movie yet, but it is on my list for sure!

Joseph, I never heard of that movie, but I am going to look it up on Netflix and order it. Thanks for the tip! I am always on the look out for a good horror movie! (I just hate watching them alone =P)

@Emma: Oh totally, the Rob Zombie version was the best Halloween ever. It really portrayed Michael as much more human, albeit a really fucked up one, and it was also much better than his first movie, House of 1,000 Corpses.

Hi Dallas, Yeah Halloween scared me more than the Friday series. I recently seen the new Halloween by Rob Zombie and I LOVED it! I had always wondered what made Michael Myers a killer. That movie explained it. Michael is for sure the scarier guy....he is more "realistic" than Jason.

@Emma: I was about 11 or 12 when that movie came out, and it scared the bejeezus out of me. I actually started watching all the Friday the 13th and the Halloween movies this past year in order. I finished the Halloween ones, but never got past the 3rd or 4th F13th movie, for some reason. For some odd reason, I think I like Michael Myers better than Jason.

Oh I am gonna love this group. I myself am a HUGE Friday the 13th fan! Jason.....is my hero!
When my daughter, who is now 16, was around 8 or 9 years old, we had a Friday marathon at home. Took us 1 full week to watch all the movies. We had tons of fun and now she is still a huge horror film fan like her mom =)
