Snow White: A Tale of Terror (1997), directed by Michael Cohn

This is a much darker version of Snow White than the one offered by Walt Disney, and probably truer to the orignal fairy tale. It has some great scenes depicting sympathetic magic, but it is not an outstanding movie—okay, but not outstanding.

Wikipedia has some interesting stuff on the fairy tale, too.

I agree it's worth at least one watch. I would watch it again before I would watch the Walt Disney version again.
