So, getting off the billboard topic for a sec.. Another interesting idea of what this group could do is start an AIR event somewhere here in Ohio. http://www.atheistnexus.org/group/AIR (see link)
I guess this Atlanta based group has had one event and it apparently went well.

We could get a picture of the vandalized billboard from carolina and underneath say "Religous Freedom??" Thoughts?

Will need to think about it. Give me a little time and I will come up with a few ideas to throw around.

Go right ahead, what would you suggest?

I'm sure we could come up with something that let's people know steve. Just needs to be fairly simple and to the point.

That might be hard to convey in the amount of text that is easily read on a billboard.

And that is what I feel the billboards that the American Humanist Association have been accomplishing anyway.

That sounds like a good one mike. I'm down for that one.

Here is a link to the group I am working with in Atlanta to get a billboard up http://atlantaatheistad.com/
The main site to donate from is the American Humanist Association https://secure.americanhumanist.org/SSLPage.aspx?pid=289 which a wonderful organization! I am a member and get monthly newsletters. I don't think putting up a billboard is "pushing" an idea... publicizing yes. I think people who "question" should have an opportunity to find people and resources to whom they can look to for their inquiries. A billboard lets you know others are out there that question as well.

I agree mike. I could care less about who people worship. Its when they try to push their views on others when I want to step in and quiet them.

Hi! I'm in Columbus (Dublin) and definitely interested in helping to promote or push forward on promotional or advocacy issues. I've just started writing a column on atheism for the Columbus edition of Examiner.com, so if anyone has atheism-related issues that they'd like to see get some publicity, drop me a line. (Columbus/central Ohio is ideal, but I can work with state-wide or broader issues as well.)
