Is Kent State University (main campus) close enough? They have a freethinkers group and stuff :P

(woo, first post!)

So, uh...any teens in central Ohio?  Or anywhere in Ohio?  xD I don't know any other atheist teens, so it'd be great to meet some~

I hear what you're saying, Mike. People can be quite disheartening. I share your restraint and hope that we can find sometime to converse on here as two logical humans.

I  don't even know any of you, so until you prove that you are a decent person(s), then as a mere matter or principle, I'm going to have to converse with you(s) 10 or 20 times before I meet you, and then when I do meet you(s) in person, I'm going ot be extremely cautious and I'm never going to let my guard down, because I got robbed the last time I met someone in person, and I'm never going to be a naive fool again.

Anyone from Central Ohio (Columbus) wanna meet up for lunch or coffee sometime here soon?

Anyone else going to the national convention in April?

Just joined! I live here in Columbus so it's nice to see other atheists besides myself that live here. Most, if not all of my friends, are Christians and it can get pretty lonely and intimidating when we get into discussing religion. Of course, I can hold my ground. I'd love to meet more Atheists like myself to hangout with and talk about all kinds of things.

Peace,

David- I am an ex-christian(Free Will baptist) also and live in Columbus and the only atheist I know personally is my best friend in Denver, CO. It can be lonely. We have to stick together and support each other.

I live in Columbus and go to Columbus State. As an ex-christian I don't know any atheists, and only know one agnostic.

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/21/texas-merry-christmas-bill_n_3312786.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…

My first funeral as an atheist

Posted by Two Cult Survivor on May 21, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.

I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…
