I'm in Dayton, but I'm male. My wife is a very chill pantheist though...

Anyone here in Dayton? I would give just about anything to have a female atheist friend to hang out with. Now that I've 'come out', I've lost friends. Sad, but true.

Ok, with all of this sports talk, I lost what "The Rally to Restore Sanity" is. I'll google it.

True betsy. Im not even a "true sports fan". Ive been turned off by the politics of sports for years now. At the pro level you can see people that rail against tax increases get on board for a tax hike that brings a new stadium to town. What do the tax payers get in return? $8.00 beer and $4.00 hotdogs. Dont even get me started on high school sports. Guess it was just reflex to try and tie a topic to atheism in here. So you guys get back to your sports debate. Ill have a hotdog and watch from the bleachers.

I'm also from Cleveland originally, and I totally agree with you about the Yankees, Loren. But, Chris, I think a lot of Americans like underdogs. Most of the people I know that root for team because they win all the time are bullies.

There is nothing rational about rooting for sports teams. I will hate the Ravens and the Steelers forever. And the Indians will always be #1 for me. But if I want to see winning baseball, I stand a better chance watching the minor league teams. The Columbus Clippers and the Lake County Captains both won playoffs in their leagues this year. This is probably as close as I'm gonna get to championship baseball any time soon.

Kidding about the sports teams! Anyone going to The Rally to Restore Sanity? I'd love to but can't get off work.

Pardon my french, but the Yankees can suck my dick. I'm a Clevelander. I prefer to support HOME TOWN TEAMS. Right now, the closest thing to that are the Ohio State Buckeyes, who are at least reasonable.

Meantime the Indians fundamentally suck, the Cavaliers were stabbed in the back by that prima donna LeBron, and the Browns, despite having Holmgren in the front office, are completely unproven and not likely to register anything better than a 9-7 season at best, and far more likely 7-9 or worse. Am I making myself clear here?

Something about being atheists makes us root for the underdogs?
Comment by Phillip Borders on October 5, 2010 at 9:21pm
The only pro team I really follow is the OSU Buckeyes football team.
But I had Browns season tickets for 10 years but I to give them up this year....not enough interest among my friends, family and myself.
We could always root for the Bluejackets. ???????

Nathan Young That's true Jonathan Brown.  At one time I was a member of the MRA board when it was more open towards hearing an orthodox Mormon views on things.  Since that time the MRA is now under the stewardship of a new 'religion' the 'Society for Humanistic Mormonism' which is merely another apostate religion.  It will fail just like all other apostate forms of Mormonism have failed including might I add the Mormon "Transhumanist" Association and their kind, and all the front…

Hello fellow atheists!  I have joined this site in an attempt to find other rational individuals, such as myself, and to promote a current charity drive that I am trying to get going for the Oklahoma tornado victims.  I have managed to get many groups from around my area, including the Beyond Belief Foundation to back me on this endeavor.

I am located in Newnan, Ga and have my own atheist group entitled "Coweta County Atheists".  I am currently being backed by Spaulding Co.…
