I expect everyone to be properly educated on the matter at hand before voting on amendments that affect such large groups of people, but that's obviously too much to ask for in the Bible Belt.

Nope.  Most had no freaking clue.  You really expect religious nuts to do a proper job of educating themselves?

I hope all of the bigots that voted for A1 realize that straight couples lost some marriage rights today, too.

The funny part is that once DOMA falls, the only people getting fucked will be those in a domestic partnership.  Gay people will be able to go out of state and get married.

While it's not unexpected I was still hoping that the state had grown up a little bit.

Why NC, why........ :(

Hey guys! So...this group is, eh, lively. :)

I'm an atheist living near Greenville, NC. I've been hoping to find some groups near me, but everything seems to be costal or central. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears. BTW, vinegar, obviously.

Jules- Because it is! Yum!

I dunno, man.  Half of the people in the urban areas of North Carolina are from out of state.  You might get different results than you expect.
