Hey all, I'm currently reading Nailed: Ten Christian Myths That Show Jesus Never Existed at All by David Fitzgerald. Loving it so far. I'm hoping that one day I can put what I'm learnming from this book to good use and deconvert some of my religious friends.

Another plug for Will Self. This time "Liver", 4 novellas of varying length about that particular organ and touching on drink, drugs, asissted suicide, miracle cures and a modern Prometheus. Read in under 24 hours!

Just read Brendan Behan's "Borstal Boy". Lots of sentimental Irish nationalism and Catholicism but also a description of a suprisingly enlightened juvenile penal system in the years 1941-43. Enjoyed it and can recommend it.

I'd like to recommend to everyone Robert J. Sawyer's outstanding WWW Trilogy--WWW: Wake, WWW: Watch, and WWW: Wonder. (It's easy to remember which one to read when--just read them in alphabetical order.) The books are well-written and almost impossible to put down. Not only are the main characters interesting, they're people you'd like to have as friends. They express values that I believe are common to just about all non-theists. The first book was a Hugo nominee last year. The second book won the Prix Aurora this year for best English-language Canadian SF novel. And I'm confident the third book will do just as well. It's some of the best science fiction I've read in a long time.
