
I just finished reading The Meme Machine. Finally! I’ve been so busy lately that it took me forever.
This is a very good book, and perhaps the best place to start if you want to get familiar with memes. Blackmore is a decent and humble writer, and she is not afraid to say when she does not have the answer to the questions she poses.
Perhaps one of the most important arguments she makes in the book is for meme-gene co-evolution. I have scanned in the 1st chapter, the 7th chapter (on language), and the 8th chapter (on meme-gene co-evolution) for you here.
