@Shawn: Incercargill? It's usually the lowest temp on the radio weather forecast anyway.

Which is the coldest town in Kiwi land?

The difference, folks, is that we tend to have double glazing and central heating in Scotland!

Well, I for one would like to know what winter in Dunedin feels like. I think I might go and find out.

I think you'll survive winter, if you can survive scotland! :) Although cant remember ever spending a winter in Dunedin! :)

Hello. I've just recently arrived in Dunedin from Scotland. The place seems great so far - pretty vibrant intellectually and culturally, especially given its size - though we've yet to survive our first winter!

"The first buses started running on 6 January 2009 - 800 are running around the whole of the UK and it is also planned to place 1,000 adverts on the London Underground featuring quotations from famous atheists. Subsequently, two large LCD screens have been placed on Oxford Street, central London.[4]"

Woohoo!

I'm gonna have to take a trip up to london to see that! :)

I don't know if you guys have heard about the Blasphemy law that was passed in Ireland last year!!!!! Which is odd as England, Scotland and Wales knew NOTHING about it. There was little to NO press on the matter. Well Ireland is jumping back and everyone is blaspheming all over the place and they are having a vote later this year to removed the law! YAY there is justice, now lets see if it goes through!

I don't know where this bus campaign originally came from but they started to try it around London. A Bus driver refused to drive the bus as it was against his religion and he didn't want to have to deal with angry members of the public.
You have a job and you work for a company. For them to be able to employ you they get alot of money from advertising. You don't want to work there you don't. Nuff said.

I can't believe that because atheists aren't a 'religion' that we get less say that any other beliefs!!! Didn't a church respond with a similar yet more provoking campaign? (Or was that in london?) "There definitely is a god" with exactly the same font and sizes.

Any country that gives us. Stephen Fry, Bill Bailey, Eddie Izzard, Jimmy Carr, Rhod Gilbert etc, etc, etc. Well it's a good place!

There's this TV channel over here (Called Dave... don't know why) Which shows some of the better comedy quiz shows. Unfortunately it shows it over and over and over again. lol

Come together one and all

Hello fellow atheists!  I have joined this site in an attempt to find other rational individuals, such as myself, and to promote a current charity drive that I am trying to get going for the Oklahoma tornado victims.  I have managed to get many groups from around my area, including the Beyond Belief Foundation to back me on this endeavor.

I am located in Newnan, Ga and have my own atheist group entitled "Coweta County Atheists".  I am currently being backed by Spaulding Co.…

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

War on Christmas in May

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/21/texas-merry-christmas-bill_n_3312786.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…
