A recently transplanted non believer from the northeast to New Mexico here. Fairly encouraging to see fellow infidels in the area

Kind of surprised to see this many members in the land of Entrapment.

Has anyone been keeping track of the domestic partnership bill they've trying to get passed in Santa Fe? On TV it shows Catholic priests in the Round House influencing the legislators to oppose it. Doesn't it remind you of the Muslim immans in Iran?

Yes...a mountain of evidence accrued over centuries is "dogma" and bronze age stories about magical zombies are "truth." It's easy to say the facts aren't convincing when you refuse to acknowledge them....I think I'll take a botany class and say: "I don't believe in photosynthesis." I've still never gotten a good answer from the cretinists... "Why do men have nipples?"

In biology for biology major classes at Eastern New Mexico University I have heard at least 3 apologies per professor any time the book speaks of evolution. I almost jumped out of my seat to complain, but the bible belt rules here.

we see what happens when people burn books instead of reading them...those written after the bronze age, anyway.

Yeah it was the Fractal Foundation in albuquerque, they even posted on their web page and facebook fan page, complaining about it. Seeing as I don't go to school there any more, I thought it was pretty funny.

Public apology? lol. I AM sorry. Sorry that so many people are so abysmally ignorant. Sorry that people (mistakenly) think they have a right not to be offended. Sorry for evolving!

land of entrapment indeed, particularly here in the southeast, the high school here recently demanded a public apology from a speaker who mentioned the word "evolve" a couple of times...It's rightful that our section of the state is grouped with west texas by the national weather service.

Hello! Just another desert dwelling non-believer here. Glad to finally learn there are others like me around here.
