Hi Jenn,

Welcome to the group (such as it is, haha).  I'm sure you can tell by reading below that this wall gets little use.  Wake us all up with some stirring and thought-provoking comments!

Take care,

Rocky

Hello New Mexicans!  I'm new to this site and just wanted to say hello.  :)  I hope the conversation picks up around here.

Yes, I listen to and watch all those things too. And it's great, don't get me wrong. A little interaction goes a long way though. I have started an atheist group on meet up.com here in Los Alamos but I don't know where everyone is in NM. there doesn't seem to be a huge group of atheists here looking for a community.

@roxanne- look at meet up.com, there are group in Albuquerque but that's about it! expect for mine!

Another thing you can do is get an RSS feed of Freethought Blogs, where you can get the latest from Pharyngula, Dispatches from the Culture Wars, Digital Cuttlefish, Greta Christina. . .

I sometimes watch YouTube videos, but mostly I listen to audiopodcasts while I'm out walking or doing housework.  My favorites are Reasonable Doubts and the Non-Prophets.  (The latter one is an audio-only one put on by the guys who do Atheist Experience--but it's a different format and doesn't take calls.  I have to hand it to them for being willing to engage with theists, but on the other hand, life is too short.)  I also like Irreligiosophy, and sometimes Chariots of Iron.

I fill most of my need for atheist conversation on the atheist board on Ravelry, a social networking site for knitters.

So while there is no shortage of stuff on the net, I wonder--are there any real-life groups around that people know of?

This place is pretty slow... =\

Hi Amanda,

I also spend an inordinate amount of time on YouTube with many of the same posters that Toddp mentioned.  There's also an excellent weekly "Sunday School" posting over at ThinkAtheist that keeps me busy with news and current affairs and developments.

None of that prevents us from stopping by here too, though!

YouTube fills my fix, and the thinking atheist podcast, the atheist experience show in Austin, tx, stream it live sundays... If you haven't already, on YouTube, check out: Aronra, thunderfoot, the thinking atheist, concordance, Edward current, domonephilosphy, darkmatter2525, jesussavesatcitibank, village1diot.
That should keep you busy for awhile;)

Hey New Mexicans! Is it really true that there are no new posts on this wall since August? Let's talk... I don't know where the rest of you are getting this fix but for me, it's pretty lonesome being an atheist in NM.
