A group of like-minded atheist who enjoy proselytising, feeling superior, and actively attempting to rid the world of its arguably most divisive and damaging force: religion.

Comment by Joan Denoo on August 21, 2012 at 4:41pm Your video is so refreshing, so insightful, and so powerful I repost it with great pleasure. Since when has silence stopped atrocities? Or gentleness stopped violence? Or forgiveness stopped oppression? You are my kind of man and I would surely like to meet more like you!
Superheroes! We need to gather to fight stupidity - it's all around us.
Comment by Joan Denoo on July 26, 2012 at 9:29pm NoGodNik, well said, all of it; I particularly like this paragraph:
"The “faithful” inculcate their children with this nonsense at an age when their ability to discern truth from fiction is not yet well-developed, crippling the poor young things intellectually and emotionally, for the rest of their lives, unless they develop the wherewithal to see through it. Religion causes people to go through their lives with blinders on, and generally encourages followers to have rigid ideas about right and wrong."
Comment by Joan Denoo on July 26, 2012 at 9:27pm I wrote, "Toward a Theory of Family Violence, its antecedents, treatment and prevention," about institutions of family, education, religion, economics and politics and their role in sustaining family violence. "A Splendid Heresy," about the role of religion in maintaining and perpetuating violence in the home.
I am now working on the relationship of religious teachings and our failed economy.
Yield,
Obey,
Submit,
Acquiesce,
Turn the other cheek,
Don't question authority,
Sacrifice yourself,
Follow the rules,
Don't think critically.
Do these sound familiar? Do they ring chimes in the business world? Do you wonder why people who work for wages work for less money, longer hours, with fewer benefits? And are supposed to think that is the way economic life is supposed to be?
