Spud, another thing I like so much about computers is being able to talk all over the world with people who may have common interests. It is really fun to talk with you and share ideas.

Yes, Joan, I'm amazed at how fast I can find things with Google.

When I used to spend a lot of time on real-time chat, I'm sure it increased my speed of thinking, which has always been slow.

I remember when we had a little contest to see who could find the answer to a question, I beat the youngsters quite handily.  Of course, there were only 4 of us, and it wasn't on Atheist Nexus, which has lots of people way smarter and faster than me.

Spud, isn't it great to have a whole library at our fingertips? When I finished my research 33 years ago, there was not one book on family violence in any of our Spokane public or college libraries. I had to seek out article after article in the archives and send away on Inter-library loan. Now, all I have to do is punch in a topic or author, i.e.

Broverman, Broverman, Clarkson, Rosencrantz and Vogel,
and I have all their publication almost instantly.

"About 3,580 results

I finished in 1979; it took me months to do background research. Look at the time this computer search took: 0.22 seconds.

Patricia, I still sometimes get the tired look when asking too many questions, although I've learned to ask only 10% of what I want to.  Of course, now days I do look-up most things on the internet.

Patricia, good for you! There is nothing so beautiful and challenging than an inquiring mind.

I remember getting the ''don't ask so many questions'' when I was a kid....which of course turned me to reading anything I could get my hands on.

Totally Biased: Kamau Talks to Neil deGrasse Tyson

Always fun to watch, Neil declares "We spend the first years of a kid's life teaching them to walk and talk, and the rest of their childhood to shut up! That's not how it should be done!"

If the 2010s continue as they have, we'll remember the decade only as 50`yr anniversaries of stuff that happened in the 1960s

Take a look at this comic inspired by a quote from Neil.
