Mr. Deity car chases would be awesome. Imagine the action, especially if Mr. Deity has his omniscience turned on!

I'm concerned that Brian didn't specify that there would be no car chases in the prequel. Am I the only one to be worried about that glaring omission?

Sam is right. Religion is not the cure for ails mankind and society. But I think America is a good example of a step in the right direction. When Christianity saturated Western Europe, it was Hell on Earth -- a terrorist police state in the most literal sense. As we constitutionally pushed religion out, freedom, reason, and tolerance slowly began to take over. We're not there, but we're headed in the right direction.

@Phillip - Yes, but we have the advantage of being able to observe secular societies (mostly in Europe) that Nietzsche never did. If anything, the data suggests that those countries are socially more cohesive and stable than us.

@Brian - just got to the email, awesome. Sadly: "Nietszche's concerns were understandable. He lived at a time when it was believed that people could not be good without God, and that the tenuous fabric of civilization was held together only by the fear of Almighty God." This sentence describes most of America still today.

Well, I hate politics. And right now, I'm kinda liking the capitalist system. People have been really great with the donations and subscriptions -- keeping the show going. But I'm glad you like the show and I can't believe it took you so long either. Where have you been?

I just joined because I want to know about every breath these people take! Can't believe it took me 3 years to catch on - third season!!! I wonder what other magic they have up their sleeves. God. The Movie? Our Friends, the Corporation. Image their take on capitalism! or Sex. Or even, cheap shot, politics.

The UU is Unitarian Univeralism and has some humanist who attend. They are some of the people who have signed all three AHA Humanist Manifesto.
