So, hello fellow Montana freethinkers. I grew up in Utah (yeah I know) an my folks told me, "Hey, move to Great Falls, there are two colleges and lots of people your age". Now I've found myself in what seems to be the epicenter of Western fundie-ville. What do I do?

WooHoooOOOO! I was beginning to think I was the only sane person in Montana! It's easy to find churches, casinos and massage parlors here, but just try to find an atheist! I know there here, but perhaps a bit intimidated.

I know that here in Billings there is a Humanist group, now going by Humanists of Billings. I was pretty shocked to find them. I went to several meetings when I first found them, but work has forced me to not be as active. Just as a tip for others, trying looking for these humanist groups instead of strictly atheist groups. HoB is quite active in the community also. If you're in the Billings area and are interested, send me a message and I'll give you some info!

Freethink!

Count me in! I'm a public school teacher and am tired of teaching separation of church and state only to have it continually contradicted by LEAD PRAYER throughout the school year. And of being told that I shouldn't let anyone know that I am an atheist humanist if I want to keep my job. I have the right to be free FROM religion and I am tired of having it constantly trodden upon.

I have to say that I am finally completely "out" and I was quite relieved to find that my Montana Green Party friends didn't bat an eye, OR kick me out either. So, that felt like a real plus too! If the fear can lift I predict there will be many more who will become free.

So there is a Bozeman atheists group. I've been to one meeting so far, back in January. The last couple of meetings have been more like an atheist book club, which I haven't attended.

w00t, last time I checked AN I was the only Montanan.

I'll have to see if I can't get my roommates in here, as they're both atheists as well.
