Hi everyone! I transplanted to MO from California 4 yrs. ago and so not fitting in. I live near Lake of the Ozarks, anybody near by? Haven't met an atheist since moving here. I think the locals believe I am the devil incarnate, could it be the "thank God I am an atheist" sign on my front door? I am a third generation atheist, a rarity in these parts I am sure.

I've never been there personally (since I live in Jeff City), but the St Louis Skeptics meetup group have a regular "Skeptics in the Pub" meetup at Jack Patrick's in downtown STL, so maybe that's a friendly meetup location.

Does anyone have any creative suggests for a good bar in the St. Louis area to hold such a happy hour?

Sorry, I switched topics, the list I was talking about is the list of local organizations in Mo, right above this discussion.

Isn't AHA the one that you have to have a mailing address for?   We didn't want to do the PO Box thing so we passed on a listing there.

Yeah! I'm totally going to do the AHA thing too...Someday.

Oh shit, I totally forgot, we started a satelite group in Branson, http://www.meetup.com/BransonFreethinkers/ so they need to be added to the list here.

Well I did the ULC things, just in case, but I am going to try for ordination with the American Humanist Association. They have something that looks really cool and official, and if it doesn't work I will just fall back on the goofy stuff. :)

Well, I'm ordained here. The Church of the Apathetic Agnostic

Details are here;

It's a thought
