I haven't been to Ludington for 3 or more years, but I would love to go again. In the past year, I lost my job, got divorced, and gained 40 pounds. I am looking for my life to change in a positive way. I write this not to get sympathy, but to get ideas on how to make it better.

@Eric; That's so funny because my sister sent me a Sunday School booklet for a x-mas card! I got on line and made a x-mas card for her.....it was information about the true meaning of a x-mas tree and well you know. :) She was pissed.
I'm glad my family doesn't bother me any more with...but you NEED to go to church!

Also, to add to the family aspect of things; my mom, despite knowing I'm an atheist, sends me a "Reason for the Season" christmas card every year with a big picture of Jesus on it. She keeps telling me that I will become a believer when I get older, I'm just "too young and haven't had any kids yet."....que? In all honesty though my family is okay with me being an atheist; they just dismiss it. I'm sure when they take me seriously (when I'm older and still am not a believer) then they might turn the heat up.

@Coffeekraken; Yeah Midland is pretty darn religious and there almost literally is a church on every corner. Oh, and I was born in Gaylord, which is actually about 25minutes from where I grew up. It's a nice place, but wouldn't move back there! Also, I think I ran a race in Tawas once....beautiful area if I recall correctly!

@Julie; One of my college roommates is from Fremont, so I've been there for a weekend. Almost as small as the town I grew up in. I was there for too short of a period of time and didn't interact with enough people to know how religious that town is, but being a small town in the country I'm going to assume very! Oh, and atheists are like Hitler? Wow, thats a whole lot of historical ignorance in one sentence right there. Please tell me that teacher doesn't teach history!?

@Tina; Yeah I'm not in the exact same situation but I was always the baby of the family and I was also a good/outgoing/athletic kid so I would get a lot more attention than my trouble making brother. Now that he's a fundie and I'm rational, I feel like his views are more respected with the fam now. Even despite the fact that I was always the good kid growing up and he was the trouble maker......oh well, I'll live...
