I just love it when they thank Jeebus for starting their IV on the first attempt when I did all the work....sigh....nursing is such thankless work.

These FLDS were NURSES! Apparently they were let out of the bedroom for long enough to get a nursing degree. I know that FLDS do not like to have contact with outside doctors and nurses,so they grow their own. I blame tv for glorifying these quiverful ultra large families and supporting them by giving them tv shows. While I am 'undercover' at work (I would be in jeopardy of losing my job), I make sure to point out the difference between reason and the illogical to my co-workers. My coworkers range from catholic to hindu and mulim, apparently it is okay to belong to any freakin' religion as long as you believe in something, believing in nothing is decidedly unacceptable and more than one coworker has told me that they could not SPEAK to someone who "doesn't believe in 'god'" even though the teachings of their religion is in opposition to the jewish/catholic/hindu/buddist/muslim/protestant coworker. We have just about everything represented at work, it is apparently ok, just as long as you believe in SOME form of an imaginary sky daddy!

@JSH, this is the first time I have ever gone to a conference where there were bible thumpers in the exhibition hall. There were also a couple of FLDS complete with their poofy hairdos we see on TV and 1890s style poorly fitted dresses. They driven in and escorted to all of the classes by who I assume to be their husband. One of the MD presenters started her lecture with "I am not a scientist, but...." and then threw everyscaremongering myth going around at the wall, including the thmerison MMR/ Autism 'link'. The other two lecturers appeared to be embarrassed. I gave her lecture a scathing review although I wish could have done more. If you are NOT a scientist and don't understand the process, why not get a REAL scientist to explain things?

Hello, I've been an ICU nurse of one sort or another for a gazillion years now. You would not BELIEVE the amount of woo in our profession nowdays! I just paid $375 for a conference and several of the classes (mixed MD/RN) were promoting woo, and Gideon was giving away their bibles in the convention room. I did NOT want to engage them, as I am not out of the 'closet' at work!
