Welcome to the Media Issues group on Atheist Nexus

Hey everybody. I am not an expert or even a member of the media. I am a teacher with an interest in the important issues involving the news media and journalism. Future topics may include: corporate influence and its affect on what we know about the world, reporting about religion, alternative media, file sharing, blogging, election coverage, fairness, bias, diversity, the future of newspapers, and whatever else interests our members. So, our first topic of discussion is: What is it that interests you about the media? For me, I am interested in teaching people (especially children) the critical thinking skills to examine what they are told. What interests you?
